When  we  have  thus  the  five  different  sense-organs  to  perceive  the  five  independent  and  heterogeneous  qualities,  unless  there  is  synchronizing  and  coordinating  factor,  we  could  not  have  the  organized  and  synthetic  knowledge  of  objects;  hence,  the  mind.


"Mind  is  produced  out  of  the  subtler  aspects  of  the  food  taken  in."
