MUNDAKOPANISHAD : CHAPTER-3. SECTION-2. MANTRAM-3.{ "Foremost means of Self-realisation seeking the Self alone." }

MUNDAKOPANISHAD

CHAPTER-3.

SECTION-2.

MANTRAM-3.{ "Foremost  means  of  Self-realisation  seeking  the  Self  alone." }

Discussion-2. "There  are  in  North  India  "Caturvedi-s  and  Tivedi-s  which  were  titles....."

Again,  there  are  scholars  who  industriously  commit  to  memory  stupendous  volumes  of  spiritual  literature  and  Vedic  texts.

  There  are  in  North  India  Caturvedi-s  and  Trivedi-s,  which  were  titles,  once  upon  a  time,  given  to  brahman-s  who  could  repeat  out  of  memory  all  the  four  or  three  Veda-s.

Alas,  today  they  have  become  surnames,  the  significance  of  which  is  unknown  even  to  many  of  them !!

" The  Mantram  clearly  says  here  that  merely  committing  to  memory  a  large  volumes  of  literature,  no  one  can  attain  the  perfection  indicated  therein  by  the  Rishis."

NEXT : DISCUSSION : 3. "THERE  ARE  SOME  SEEKERS  WHO  ARE  NEVER  TIRED  OF  VISITING  DISCOURSES, WHERE  TRUTH  IS  REPEATED....""

To be Continued  ...
