Discussion-2. ghost in the post !

According to the Vedantin, the Self ( Atma ) alone is the  " Truth"  ---

One without a second, All-pervading ( Sarva-vyapi ), and Eternal.

It is about this 'Infinite Truth' that the Upanishad is to deliberate upon and indicate through its explanation.

The great seekers of Ancient, who had experienced this great Truth which is the Life-Spark in us, have declaredunanimously that the finite plurality ( Samsaram) constituting the world of phenomena is a super-imposition upon the Truth, and that yhey have intrincically no reality of their own.

In short, to them the pluralistic world is false when viewed from the pinncles of the Infinite; the appearence of the many is as false as the " GHOST  in the  POST " !!!

In the darkness, the traveller mis-understands the wayside "Post to be a Ghost".

In the 'ghost' there is certainly the differenciation of its parts and, consequently, a perceptable plurality ( many ); its head distinctly rests on its trunk, which again is not the same as its limbs ( hands & legs).

But when the traveller recognises the 'Post', the 'ghost-vision,'  with all its heterogeneous parts (body-parts), rolls away at one single stroke of cognition (jnanodayam), and the 'Post' alone  remains, thereafter, vividly in the recognition of its perceiver, the comforted traveller!
